Healthy, safe and prosperous communities:
How culture, tourism and sport can deliver

Culture lives at the heart of the community. It contributes to almost every aspect of daily life, influencing key choices and providing opportunities to live healthier, happier and more fulfilled lives. It is a key a driver of individual and community aspirations, offering valuable and diverse ways to meet needs across many social areas, and is a major contributor to community health and well-being. Local government – as the key provider and facilitator of cultural services – must find new and creative ways of delivering to meet the increasingly diverse needs of local communities.

At this year’s conference, members and officers will join policy makers and strategic thinkers from other sectors in an exciting, constructive and positive environment to explore new ways in which cultural services can impact on the priority needs of local communities and deliver across a broad range of social outcomes – creating healthier, safer and more prosperous communities.
