Public leisure services for the future

This bespoke workshop, delivered in unique partnership between CLOA, LGA, APSE, Sporta and Winckworth Sherwood, aims to offer participants a fact-led discursive day focused on the procurement of public leisure services.

Stemming from the founding question of ‘what do we want our public leisure services to be?’ this event will offer an independent view of challenges and solutions to developing community focused public leisure services. 

Who should attend?

The workshop is aimed at local authority commissioners, procurement officers and managers, portfolio leaders, lawyers, Councillors, officers, heads of service, directors and leisure trusts. 

Programme for the day

The event will be chaired by David Walker, a prominent Guardian journalist.

Discussion topics will include: marketplace influencers, whether partnership should be the prime objective, how to balance the need for value against cost and outcomes, what’s the legal standpoint, and how does this all impact on procurement.
